In my current role, I serve as the IT System Administrator for a scientific company specializing in sleep scoring for clinical trials. As an IT all-rounder, I am responsible for managing an on-premise, a data center and an AWS cloud-based infrastructure.
The core responsibilities of my role include administering Linux servers, provisioning and maintaining containerized services, and managing KVM and VMware hypervisors. This involves handling Linux-based webservers, file and storage services, overseeing backup and patch management, and monitoring. Utilizing AWS-based services for secure, automated data exchanges between global customers and on-premise hosted services. Additionally, providing infrastructure resources to the development team, as well as managing Microsoft 365 services and Active Directory domains.
Recently, my focus has been on building a VMware based infrastructure from scratch, which included developing a new network scheme, and transitioning the existing KVM infrastructure to the VMware platform. Furthermore, the development of a new Veeam-based backup system that covers the entire on-premise infrastructure.
With several years of professional experience in both Microsoft environments and Linux systems, I have developed a strong foundation in IT. Over two years, I worked for a software manufacturer, managing the internal infrastructure and serving as senior support for customers.
